Itinerary: 2 Days tour from Marrakech to Zagora Desert
We will pick you up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech in the morning. Our 2 Days tour from Marrakech to Zagora start by heading to the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi N' Tichka pass. We will take pauses for the panoramic views. We' ll pass through many Berber towns along the trip.
Going south, take a 6-kilometer diversion to the ksar (fortress village) of Ait Ben Haddou. Visit the best-known Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987). In this spectacular location, famous films, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Jewel of the Nile, and many have been shot. Have free time in town for lunch. We'll continue heading to Zagora via the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Here, we will recommend various photo stops.
After 2 hours of driving, we'll arrive at Zagora Desert. We leave the car to ride the camels to the Berber camp. The ride takes about an hour. Watch the amazing sunset. Enjoy a drum performance and listen to Berber music after dinner. Spend the night at camp. Sleep in a nomad tent under a starry sky in the heart of the deser.
On the second day of this 2 Days Zagora Desert tour from Marrakech, we get up in the morning to watch the sunrise from a small dune close to the camp. After breakfast, we return to Zagora on camels. Then we go to the Draa Valley in our car. We stop along the route to take photographs. Enjoy the stunning scenery of the valley that stretches along the Draa River. This latter is Morocco's longest river. Besides, it flows through the entire country, from Mauritania to the Atlantic.
We'll next travel along the Anti Atlas to arrive at Ouarzazate. We'll visit Taourirt Kasbah, the Cinema Studios, and the Cinema Museum if you prefer. Then we start our way back to Marrakech. Stop at the Tizi N-Tichka pass for lunch.
After lunch, we'll continue our trip to Marrakech. Arrive at Marrakech in approximately 2 hours. We'll transfer to the hotel. Lastly, we end our 2 Days 1 Night tour from Marrakech to Zagora.
