8 Days Tour From Marrakech To Merzouga

The first day of your perfect 8-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga starts with a pick-up from Marrakech's airport. We will meet at the airport and head to your riad/hotel.

In case you arrive early in Marrakech, you will go with a local city guide who will show you the finest Marrakech sights, including the Menara, Koutoubia Mosque, and Majorelle Garden.

The second day of this 8 Days Desert tour from Marrakech starts with having breakfast. Heading out to explore this wonderful city. Marrakech derives its name from the Amazigh Language (Berber) Mur Akuch, which means "Land of God." It is also known as the "Red City" due to the numerous buildings built of red sandstone.

After breakfast on our 8-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, we will depart from Marrakech toward Boumalne Dades. Travel via the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi N-Tichka pass. First, we will take a short break in the Atlas Mountains for spectacular views.

After that, we will explore the most widely known Kasbah, Ait Ben Haddou. This latter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. It is a scenic clay fort with lovely architecture. This Kasbah is a prominent example of southern Moroccan architecture.

Today, the Kasbah is separated into two parts; one has fallen, and the other is still populated. It combines natural and human finesse. Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is a location that has appeared in many films, for instance, Gladiator, The Mummy, and parts of Game of Thrones, among others.

We will make a brief break in Ouarzazate Studio and Taourirt Kasbah. Stop at the Roses cooperative in Kelaat M’Gouna. Continue our 8-day desert tour from Marrakech to Boumalne Dades, where we will spend the night. Boumalne Dades will be our last destination today.

On the fourth day of our 8-day tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert, we will move toward Todra Gorges, the tightest valley between two tall mountains. Here, we will have incredible experiences with the beautiful landscapes of the mountains.

Besides, we will appreciate the natural beauty of the oasis that provides a superb feel to this quiet valley. Moreover, The Todra Gorges are well-known among mountain climbers from all over the world. Have lunch at a traditional restaurant in Tinjedad city.

After this, you will stay the night in the Merzouga Desert. The favorite aspect of this epic 8-day desert tour from Marrakech is the Merzouga Desert. Our camel guide will greet and accompany you when you arrive at Merzouga.

The camel guide will take you on an epic journey through the beautiful dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest in the world. We will make a short stop at a high dune to enjoy a memorable sunset. Sandboarding is also a great experience if that is an activity that inspires you.

After, the camel man will take you to the camp on the camels. It will only take a few minutes to arrive. When you arrive at the campsite, our team will greet you with a cup of mint tea and lead you to your private tents. Chill out and enjoy a traditional camp dinner.

Following dinner, there will be a small party with drums performed by locals and dancing around the fire. Dancing around the fire is a popular tradition among the locals. If the weather is clear, you can climb some of the dunes near the camp to catch a starry sky.

On the fifth day of your 8-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, we advise that you wake up early so you will not skip the most beautiful sunrise you've ever seen in the middle of the Erg Chebbi Desert. You will enjoy the scenery and sandboarding on the dunes close to the camp.

Later, our driver will pick you up for an exceptional journey to explore the desert surroundings. Firstly, we will visit the Sahara Museum, possessed by an Emirati man. It is famous for its different old cars.

Secondly, we will go to Khamlia, a Berber village in the suburb of the desert where the plurality of the people is from Sudan. You will taste their mint tea and listen to their traditional music known as "Gnawa." Thirdly, we will go to the old mines.

Fourthly, we will move to know about the life of nomads. There will be numerous tents that are regarded as their hometown. Besides that, you will see how they transport and their simplicity of cooking and handicrafts. Lastly, we will head back to your hotel and relax. You will have a free evening in Merzouga.

On the sixth day of the 8-day tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert, we will ride camels up the dunes to see another breathtaking sunrise. Have Breakfast, and we will return to the hotel. After a while, we'll move to the panoramic city of Azrou, surrounded by woodland and stones. Its name, by the way, derives from the Berber language and means rock or stone.

Before reaching Fes, we will go through Cedar Forest to Ifrane. This city is known as the little Switzerland, where we will catch a stone statue of a lion and other attractive sceneries. Finally, we’ll spend the night in Fes.

Fes is one of Morocco's most touristic attractions, rich in culture, architecture, and historical sites. It is Morocco's spiritual and cultural capital. Besides, it is a diverse city populated by Berbers, Arabs, Jews, French, and others. As a result, we will visit the most impressive milestones in Fes on the seventh day of our Epic 8 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.

First, we'll go to Al Quaraouiyine University, one of the world's ancientest, if not the first. Following that, you will see the glorious Royal Place with its dazzling bronze gates. From there, we'll visit the Mellah, the Jewish quarter of Fes, which is famous if you want to know about the link between Fes and the Jewish community. The houses from the early twentieth century are signs of Jewish history in Fes.

After exploring the Jewish quarter, we will visit the Chouara leather tanneries, the largest in Fes. Tourists mainly visit it for shopping. You will discover the most worthwhile sights in Fes with our guide. Lastly, you will return to the Riad to spend the night.
